ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Katie Couric and all the other network anchors, Oprah Winfrey, USA Today and every big city newspaper, Time Magazine, Newsweek, just about every pollster organization, and almost every single Hollywood celebrity are all in the tank for Barack Obama; but John McCain is the privileged Republican elitist who ostensibly represents the corrupt Washington establishment even though he has repeatedly antagonized his party and the base by reaching across the aisle compromising on policy after policy giving the Democrats continuous legislative victories.
While the worst scandal that can be attributed to John McCain is his involvement as one of the Keating Five Senators accused of corruption (where he was cleared of wrong-doing, but criticized for bad judgment) the laundry list of shady characters close to Barack Obama is awe-inspiring.
While main stream media personalities lament Sarah Palin’s lack of experience, they act indignant when conservatives point out her résumé boasts more accomplishment and executive experience than does Barack Obama’s.
Since the left can’t get off the ground with those attacks they have resorted to besmirching the good governor by suggesting she is trailer trash because she wore funny earrings in Mississippi. Since she has five kids she is irresponsible and shortchanging her family by taking this opportunity to become Vice President of the United States. Can you imagine any female Democratic candidate being presented this way by the MSM? The femi-nazis would freak!
When mistakes and shortcomings are revealed in Democratic candidates they are packaged by the MSM as “human” and “growing” characteristics building a candidate’s wisdom enabling good judgment. The same characteristics in Republican candidates make them unqualified for the job.
The bias has become so lopsided and laughable the only defense the MSM has left is to accuse FOX News of being a right wing smear network which is anything but “fair and balanced” deflecting focus away from their corrupt actions.
The funniest thing about this ridiculous news coverage is the MSM assertion that they are concerned about experience. If they were they wouldn’t be supporting Barack Obama.
Regardless, experience is a valuable commodity, but like spice, a little can go a long way. If you are bright and grounded to the American principles that individual liberty is paramount, and government authority exists to protect that liberty, experience will blend with these good fundamental precepts to develop wisdom and a comprehensive understanding of the machinery which makes America work.
On the other hand, if you are wedded to the idea that America is an inherently unfair place that needs fixin’, no amount of experience or intellect will guide you to protect the institutions and traditions which have caused America to become the land which offers more opportunity and more possibility than any other.
In the end, elections are always about one thing, ideology. Democrats will always vote for the guy who vilifies wealth that comes through hard work and dedication (suggesting these successes are only garnered by corrupt practice subjugating proletariat workers), who promises to increase taxes only on “rich” people, and who endeavors to give more power to bureaucrats.
Republicans will vote for those most likely to protect the Constitution of the United States.
Campaign outcomes hinge on those moderate voters in the middle who haven’t a clue about politics, policy, ideology, or even how their vote will affect their lives, and that is why style and empty rhetoric can overcome substance.
This election, the Constitutional gatekeepers are represented by an ex-POW who learned hard to appreciate his country, and a charismatic female fireball who can boast the nation’s highest gubernatorial approval rating and who apparently lives in an old broken down single-wide.
